VICTOR ANICHEBE believes he and fellow Everton FC substitute Denis Stracqualursi can become a pair of Blues Bruise Brothers after their impact helped outmuscle West Bromwich Albion on New Year’s Day.

The powerful Anichebe was Everton FC’s matchwinner at The Hawthorns, while Stracqualursi also made a physical impression.

Anichebe only needed one glance at the Argentinian to realise the impact the pair could have.

“Denis is similar to me in a way. He came on today and I was shocked at how fit and how strong he is,†he declared.

“He’s a really strong guy. He’s seems to be getting into the team more now and he’s doing quite well.

“Tolos (Apostolos Vellios) wasn’t involved today and he’s done well for us this season. I can bring a bit of power and we’ve got Louis (Saha) as well. We’ve got great players. If we can just keep going we can get some results.â€

Anichebe’s 84th minute strike underlined Everton’s impressive record for grinding out late victories this season.

A remarkable 72 per cent of Everton FC’s goals have come in the second half of matches this season, with 12 in the final 12 minutes of matches.

Don't be silly Vic, Moyes is too tactically inept to play two strikers.

Quite simply they should play against Bolton from the start.

Whats the point of having a squad if you aint going to reward those we do well? Stracqualarsi has looked useful in his past three appearances and Anichebe as much as I dont rate him changed the game this weekend.

i do think straq is worth a start, can't do any worse then saha or cahill and unless moyes tries him out from the start he will never know what he can offer us over 90 mins,,, if he's gash after 30 mins put saha on instead of him and play with 8 across the back.

Vic isnt fit enough to start, even if he was seen as good enough. straq should. hopefully drenthe back. anyone know anything about whether drenthe gonna be back?

Vic should start... So glad ur not boss!! Suppose you would have Billy playing behind the front two!?!?

Vic and straq... Can't think of a more depressing strikeforce.

He hasn't got 30 mins in him yet never mind 90. We really don't need a few good performances from Vic this Jan papering over the cracks and leaving the perfect excuse for not bringing in a striker ffs

Saha and AN Other from Stracq and Velios to start. Vic as a sub to build up fitness / make and impact. Cahill as sub too - his best games this season are when he comes on against tired defences.

Vic is highly rated by the management and players, i'm sure he'll come good and consistent at some point. I say play him.

In fact, he's done well for us in alot of his past appearances so why not?

Straq also has played well, better than Saha and Cahill have been doing, so to call it 'depressing' is a bit harsh imo

I would like to point out that I dont rate Anichebe at all.

But as with any proper squad if he comes in and does well he should start. Same with anyone. I hate players automatically getting selected when their form doesnt merit it.

Stracqualersi aint **** either. He aint brilliant by any means but for me he offers more than anyone else does up front for us right now. A good outlet who keeps the ball and works his arse off.

Agree. I'd start with pretty much anyone ahead of Cahill and Saha at present.
