Pop down to Burgess Park next time you're in my neck of the woods mate, the floodlit courts here are always chocker block with kids having a hit. I'd say 90% of them are ethnic minorities. Blooming good they are too. I normally meet the other half by them to walk her home so get to watch a few minutes most nights. Always cheers me to see so many games going on each evening :)

Do accept that this is probably the exception rather than the norm though.

There's plenty of free courts for public use here in Norwich so i'd assume it's the same for othr similar cities. Plus i think plenty of schools have courts which can used outside hours.

You can buy a cheapo racket and set of balls from a supermarket and you're good to go.

Anyway, Sean Connery's agent phoned him up and said he had a job for him the next day and he'd be round to pick him up about ten-ish. Sean replied "Ten-ish, but i don't even have a racket".

I work in a primary school and we have loads of rackets and balls that the kids can use at break time. Obv it's not the same as a proper game on a proper court, but it's a good way for them to get a taste and we have people who come in and do proper sessions.

Jesus, that's unreal.

Above mentioned prices where I live.

There's actually even cheaper not to far away, for those just looking for a few cheap games in Liverpool try http://www.vagabondsltc.co. £80 for your first year, after that £12 a month. Great macadam courts, nice clubhouse and if you need abit of coaching the fees there are quite reasonable.

Even cheaper again I know the Nalgo on Alder Road leave their nets up all year round and people generally just walk up and pay for free. It was once a well run club but for whatever reason now it's all but folded. Courts aren't great , Tarmac and Clay both playable but a little faded.

Fantastic.

Bloody Munich where I live charging thirty nicker an hour for even the worst quality courts.

Five a side must surely be a similar price though... We pay approx 60 pounds for an hour between ten.

Too technical. The side of a house used to do me and my mates when we were younger. Sort of a mix between tennis and squash. More kids need to get out and do that.

Used to do this in my parents old garden. Back wall had a two windows, and a couple outlet pipes/drains from washing machine etc. Then the garden was half patio then grass/mud. Certainly kept you on your toes!

I'm a big fan of Andy Murray, I think he's been treated really badly by the UK press during his career, and yes he could have handled it better in the beginning, but he was very young then!

The media completely stitched him up with that 'anyone but England' farce and then they start crying because he doesn't give them anything in press conferences lol the media are pathetic and I respect Andy for not playing their little games. Also, the pressure that the lad has had to deal with over his career, especially at Wimbledon, would have crushed most guys, but Andy has came through it all and won his slams, including Wimbledon. He deserves massive credit for that.

The guy has worked his socks off and overcame all sorts to get to the top and win grand slams, hopefully there are more to come!
