Andy Gray’s Odd Allardyce Observation

Don't see anything wrong with what Andy Gray said, other than the 'not knowing how we would have evolved had Big Sam stayed' bit. When we were 'safe' and couldn't really get any higher or lower in the table, Big Sam didn't try to play in a more attractive style etc. so we pretty much do know how things would have been had he stayed.

People do realise there's an element of devils advocate in all these studio discussions don't they?

Admittedly it's a studio rich with the aroma of bellend but if you watch the full clip instead of fuming that Allardyce got a mention you then see a positive discussion about Everton's progress under Silva in a relatively short time. Other than that it's just bells trying to fill air time with pointless drivel.

I think when we had got a draw at Anfield last season it did look what we were moving forwards, until our pathetic performance at Bournmouth and our awful New Year start, he did do well. I'm not really sure what to think of us tbh, I think we'll know better about how far we've moved forwards in the new year. I don't think there's any point look backwards, let's just focus on getting behind the boys and drawing the RS in the cup and beating them on the way to winning the cup.

Bit of a none story this on the scale of things, not sure why Evertonians worry so much what the media are saying anyway

I am loath to bring his name up, lest we go 'off to the races again' , but wasn't it Gray who suggested Man U should consider Roberto Martinez as Mourinho's possible replacement ...
