The two biggest ever empirical studies on this subject were released a year or so ago. One covered the USA, the other the UK. Totally separate and totally independent quantitative studies. The results in both put the proportion of the male populations of both countries classed as homosexual at around the 2% mark. Very much a small minority I would say. Don't pay any regard to the over-representation of gays in fictional film and TV drama, soaps etc.

That's another matter. I was just pointing out the actual relative numerical size of the gay and straight communities.
