Jeebus.........that's horrific. Reminds me of Luc Nilis, played for villa and broke his in a similar way.

'orrible

Painful. Ouch. The worst thing for me wasn't the noise, but when he put his leg down and attempted to stand on it... jesus!

Seems he's on the mend:
Anderson Silva had successful surgery on his left leg at a Las Vegas hospital after he broke his leg in Saturday night's UFC 168 against Chris Weidman. Silva was trying to re-gain UFC's middleweight title.

Silva (33-6 MMA, 16-2 UFC) tried a low, left leg kick in the second that was blocked by Weidman (11-0, 7-0) and resulted in the gruesome broken leg.

Silva's surgery, performed by UFC Dr. Steven Sanders, repaired his left tibia by inserting a rod into his leg. According to a statement from UFC, Silva's broken fibula was stabilized and won't require another surgery.

“Anderson will remain in the hospital for a short while, but no additional surgery is scheduled at this time. Recovery time for such injuries may vary between three and six months. Anderson is deeply touched by the outpouring of support from his fans and the entire MMA community. There has been no immediate decision about his future, and he would kindly ask for privacy at this time as he deals with his injury and prepares to return home to recover.”

Watched it live, was kinda horrible. Surprised it doesn't happen more often really. It's probably the end of his carreer, bit old to be coming back from an injury like that.

threw a leg kick without tuning his hips so the impact was on he wrong part of his leg when it was blocked. this injury has happened before.
