And as the dust starts to settle....

I have to say i had one of my best weekends as an Everton fan this last weekend. The trip was unreal right up to when the whistle for the 2nd half was blown. Theres a few things that wrangle with me right now..

Everton fans are the best in the world, no doubt in my mind. I was in Watford an it was 80%-20% Everton fans, just ask Fox, we where everywhere. And very well behaved. A credit to the club an city. For two days all i saw was Everton fans singing an dancing there way to Wembley. Was so proud of everyone.

Now on to the serious stuff....

We bottled it again, i cant believe how comfortable the 1st half was. We were cruising and 1-0 up. At half time havin a pint with the lads i said "we'll win this 2 or 3 nil here, we've got these c**ts here" And what happens......

Bottlers, spineless, let downs....... again!!!

This all stems from one place for me...... Moyes.

I'm not going get stck in to him, because for me he's done a great job in turning us from relegation fodder every year to looking for Europe and bringing in really good players. But his style of football is an always has been very, very poor. But thats not in question. It's his mentality i can't stand. Plucky little Everton he portrays just eats me up. David do you not understand the song "and if you know your history". In the big games he sends us out as losers every time. Is it any wonder we've got such a poor record against the top teams away...(bar city). His negativity is there for all to see. He has an inferiority complex against that lot as well, but it doesn't need to be like that, look at Royals record.....

Ok to sort of some up, Moyes has never really been helped by this bored. They've hung him out to dry on many occasions. But he himself is part of our bigger problem, he's never going to take us on from were we are now. And it's because he doesn't believe were good enough or big enough to compete, if he ends up at Spurs he might believe they are and go and win thing but it's just stale with us. martinez has sent his team out with belief over the last few weeks against the big boys and look at there results(not that im saying he's the answer like) Moyes has lost or has never had that belief. It really is time for a new start.

David Thanks for the memories an you gave me plenty, but it's time to move on.

And please take Kenwright with you!!!!

Yes, an we will get Steve Bruce/mick McCarthy / any other **** manager who is on the merry go-round in??? Moyes is the best man out there at the moment for our club. Anyone who is really worth their salt won't come to us coz we have no money.

I'm pissed off as the next man about the weekend but sacking moyes really isnt the answer.

We won't have to sack him, he'll leave in the summer..... One don't be so nieve to think he's the only man who can run our football club.

I agree with what you are saying, regarding Moyes, but I am not so sure he will leave in the summer. Where will he go? Will Spurs take a negative defensive manager?

Whilst I am not saying he is the only guy who could manage us, are we really a great proposition? Great fans yes, Good squad (would they leave with Moyes?) Great tradition, but having to sell to buy every year, not that great. The worry for me, knowing how bad the board is, is that we will get someone like McCarthy in.

So I ask you, McCarthy or Moyes?

Im not naive to think he is the only one who can run the club, I just think he is the best available at this time. If we get someone new in they will either be a) **** (as in Bruce/McCarthy/reid/ ) or b) un-proven.

When we got Moyes in he was un-proven but we had nothing to lose then, we were fighting relegation almost every year. Now though we have a lot to lose, we are a team who is challenging for europe every season and that is not the challenge that should be given to a un-proven.

I'm with you on this one.
Fortunately of unfortunately which ever way you look at it I wasn't at wembley cos of being in work.
I did manage to catch the game on the pc and yes I thought we looked so comfortable in the 1st half but I always had the doubt in my mind because it was the RS.
I was right.....Moyes being Moyes, bottled it and handed them the initiative which they took with both hands.
His negativity rubs off on the players and it now runs right through the club.
Could he change with serious money? Well it's not gonna happen with Ken****e so unless he moves on and tries his luck with a club with serious cash we will never know.
I have supported Everton FC for 40 odd years now and Saturday was probably THE darkest day ever.
Sick of us being labeled as "plucky little Everton"
Is it likely to change any time soon? Highly unlikely
Am I likely to invest any of my hard earned cash in Everton FC in the near future? Very unlikely.
David Moyes you have done a great job in your 10 years hear, but IMO Everton FC is a massive club and should be challenging for honours( just like the RS.) it's time to move on.......

I like you Sharpey. You know what you are on about.

I agree with just about everything. We are so stale and have been for about 3 seasons.

But the question remains, who would replace David Moyes?

This is what gets to me, people think Moyes is the only man who could do a good job.... Who was he before he came to us...no.... There might be people out there who could do a well better job. There must be a bett style of football.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

We have to move on.

100% agree mate.

Our football is horrible despite having decent players. That can't be right.

I'd actually take a few more losses on the chin if we were actually trying to win games. Moyes in recent seasons has been too keen to not lose, rather than to try and win.

Still no idea who would replace him.

Agreed mate, but who says a brendon Rodgers or a Martinez wouldn't chance the whole out look of our club. This small club mentality Moyes portrays is wearing very very thin.

Because I'm telling you lots of the fans believe it to... I.e Neiler. I love him but just read some of his posts. He believes well never be better then we are now an to stick with what we've got. No chance reach for the starts I say.... WE ARE EVERTON

NILSATIS NISIOPTIMUM

if you don't believe that, you have no business being here!!!!!

But what happens if he stays? people are already stopping going to the match due to his brand of football. we will be playing infront of 10k fans in a few seasons. can another manager have us playing any worse? maybe a few as bad but not worse.

No. I don't think that they would be that interested in him. If anything he has been at Everton too long when it comes to other clubs looking at him. They probably think he's a one-club man, especially when he himself talks the way he does about certain clubs being right for certain people (e.g. Pienaar etc...). No trophies and no evidence of being able to use a large transfer kitty well also don't help.

All that said, Brendan Rodgers looking a good bet to replace 'Arry if he goes.

Brendon Rodgers has had one season in the premiership and is ahead of moyes in the running for the spurs job. says a lot really.
