Awesome, I go to Piper's pub on matchday when I go back to Pittsburgh to see my folks. I'll try Church's sometime.
Funny. I was watching the match at Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh and a guy across the bar was an Everton fan. He also talked about Piper's being the place to go.

After the World Cup, I don't think we need to mention Rooney for a little bit. Anyways, where did the name "Everton" come from anyways???
anyways twice in a sentence? Impressive. ;) Everton is a area in the City of Liverpool, used to be its own distinct city/town before the Industrial revolution but was absorbed as Liverpool grew. We were originally named St Domingos FC as the church parish had a cricket team that then started to play football in the winter months. Then people from the community outside of the church wanted to play, so they called it Everton after the area.

How did you enjoy Primanti Bros.? Regarding Rooney, logically that makes sense that I should have including him in the list as he's the biggest name in English football (Ross Barkley will have something to say to that here in 2-3 years), but I guess subconsciously I decided to leave the adopted Manc off the list.

Live in Baltmore now. The only place I found here is some douchebag expensive bar that is full of RS fans. I have to drive all the way down to Fado's in DC if I want to go to a pub. Pipers is great, there are fans there for every side there so everybody gets along. Even the RS fans there are admittedly OK.

Sorry for the terrible sentence structure. I was posting after drinking a few 24oz oat sodas. Perfect explanation though. Guess I never thought of it before. Thanks!

It's all good mate, I was where you you are now only a few years ago. I loved learning about the whole rich history of the club, Everton really is something special. Can't say its easy being an Everton supporter at times, particularly in NZ, (the time difference is not kind to us, nor are the gloryhunters that make up the football supporting community) but it is well worth it, being part of the family and a part of the fabric of our club is an amazing feeling. This forum epitomises Everton in many ways IMO.

Primanti Bros was excellent! Had the "Pitt sammich wit an egg on it." As for Rooney, I agree he should be on the list. I was just being a loudmouth prick ;) I tend to do that on occasion.

Great bunch of mates at Primanti bros. Had some good conversations, good beer, good sammich and a nice view of the barmaid who had an amazing pair of yoga pants on (biting my fist as I think about it).
