I got onto football365.com today for the first time in a few months. I always enjoyed their mediawatch feature, and this one "Non-football story of the day" quite amused me:

'A hairdresser who swapped her scissors for a handgun and shot an unhappy customer could spend up to 20 years in prison. Monique Reed turned the .38-calibre weapon on a client dissatisfied by the hair weave just received. Reed, 40 and from Washington in the US, claimed she only fired two shots because 28-year-old Lauren Newton and her sister had threatened her. Reed also insisted she did not realise "a .38-calibre could be considered a deadly weapon" - and told a judge the gun "didn't even take her down". The shooting came during a scuffle at Reed's salon in March 2008. Ms Newton was hit in the lower back, though has since recovered. Reed was sentenced to between five and 20 years in jail for aggravated assault and other charges'

Only in America, eh (y)

Hahahaha, red handed.

Thats nothing, he was all over the NSFW thread as well.

But agreed, only in America.

/shakes head.

Here's a good one (and the hard at work/hardly working thing comes to mind right now :P )

'Channing Tatum has revealed he had to be rushed to hospital after scalding his manhood on the set of his latest movie. The Step Up star said burning his private parts while shooting The Eagle Of The Ninth was "the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life". He told Details magazine: "I've been to the hospital, gotten stitches, had broken fingers and toes - but this was a suffocating kind of pain." The 29-year-old was shooting a scene in the Roman battle epic in which he had to stand in freezing water wearing a wetsuit to keep him warm.

'He said: "The only way to keep warm was by pouring a mix of boiling water and river water down your suit. We were finally done shooting for the day, and one of the crew guys asks if I want to warm up before I go. I'm like, Nah, I'm good. And then I thought, Why not?

"Thing is, he'd forgotten to dilute the kettle water. So he poured scalding water down my suit. And I was trying to pull the suit away from my body to somehow get away from the boiling water, and the more I pulled the suit away, the lower the water went. It just went straight down and pretty much burned the skin off the head of my d**k." The actor was taken to hospital where doctors bandaged him up and said he's now "one hundred per cent recovered

And this stuff is just golden.......

'Do you like beer? Do you have a functioning cardiovascular system? A blood bank in America has a great deal for people like you. Cascade Regional Blood Services in Tacoma, Washington state, is offering donors a free pint of beer every time they give blood, as a way to encourage more donations. Donors - who have to be over 21 - are given a coupon entitling them to the free pint when they donate blood through the 'Give blood, get beer' scheme. The blood centre says that the scheme has worked so well that it is being expanded. The coupon can be redeemed at a number of local pubs and restaurants - although, in the interests of health, they have to wait at least four hours after the donation has taken place before they can give the person their beer'

Nothing new we invented that over here every doner was given a guinness straight afterwards. Had to stop it as it was found to be not good for you.

'A method actor was rushed to hospital after he collapsed on stage while drinking real vodka to give a convincing portrayal of a Russian drunk. Marc Schulze, 36 - appearing in 'Moscow - Petushki' by Russian satirist Venedict Yerofeyev in Frankfurt, Germany - had downed one shot after another during the course of the show. But the audience realised something was wrong when he started missing his lines and staring blankly at other actors.

'One theatre-goer said: "He was turning in a very realistic performance and it looked really impressive. I was amazed at how good his drunken staggering was and how he was slurring his words. But as the performance went on he started to miss lines and looked really confused and the audience could tell there was something wrong. Then he just collapsed." Now he has been ordered by producers to stick to water in future shows
