Id defo advise renting an apartment, you can do whatever you want then. If you like your weed, ask whoever your renting off for advice, or get them to sort you some for on arrival. The brasses are brasses. Dont buy anything off the rats on the street, unless you like paying for and snorting talc or sugar.

Thought I'd dig this thread back up as I am flying out to Amsterdam in 3 weeks, How expensive is ale and food over there? I'm going for 4 days and planning on taking around 400 euros, will that be suffice do you's think?

The ale is expensive it was 6 euro a pint ten years ago in the RLD move away from there and you'll get it cheaper. Foods not much different from here

Only ale, food and coffee shops i'm that worried about, wont blow much in RLD as going with my girlfriend. (save RLD for when I go with the lads) Thinking of getting a few bottles of spirits in the airport and drinking before I go out.

Also I need to find somewhere which will have our game against young boys on the Thursday night. Believe theres a few Irish bars which might show it, so I'll drink a fair bit that night.

Always the way!! very nearly went to bern myself but it got just outside my price range 600 Euro for 2 nights to a bit too pricey

Ta lads some decent replies there. Much appreciated. Can anyone tell where the best green is sold & least dodgy brass houses. I get a feeling Amsterdam will be a very messy long weekend.

Best Coffee shops, Hill Street Blues and the Prix D'ami, swerve the Grasshopper.

For food the Argentinian steak restaurant is worth a visit.

Oh and when your crossing the road boxed remember bikes, cars, trams, trams cars, bikes until your safely on the opposite pavement.

Spent many a day in Hill St Blues, sat down the end near the canal, in fact if I was going back there it'd probably be during the week as less hectic... as is going out in the daytime.

The best places were a bit of a walk tbh, but given the cheese & everything over here these days i.e. you can get knock out green in every town over here you should try the hash... it aint like the soap & rocky served up over here.

Those days are about 18 months behind me now though & tbh dont want to start again either.

Staying around liedseplin, anyone know what the best coffeshops are around there? or any decent bars?

Quite a few up that end & between there & Dam Square (20 years ago now though like), Dutch Flowers is up there that sells Cigars, right on a canal and next to a police station.
Watch out for all the bollards as well or the only thing you'll be going to a brass for is to get your nuts retrieved.
