Got to thinking after Bob Bradley's dismissal about whether America will actually ever produce a truly world class coach or player?
There have been a couple that have been ok, namely the 2 we've had, Howard (latter seasons aside) and Donovan, but none you'd consider a huge success.
Michael Bradley was supposedly the next big thing but he's terrible and wouldn't get a start in a bottom half premier league team, Yedlin was going to be a world beater but he looks like fading into obscurity. We've had the likes of Shea, Altidore etc but they've all generally been poor.
I appreciate it's nowhere near as popular as other sports in America, but with a population that huge surely they should have produced a decent footballer by now?
Any Americans able to shed any light on your players failure to make an impact in Europe's top domestic leagues?
