Amazon Prime scam.

I get about 10 calls a week with poorly designed warnings or threats. Some about popular products and some about arrest warrants that don't exist. Got a lot more frequent when VOIP became more prevalent. I'm on the do not call list but scammers couldn't give a frig.

We have had our card used twice by scammers.

Both times immediately after using Amazon to purchase goods.

I had one the other day, phone call with a recorded message saying that my broadband was going to be cut off due to illegal activity, unless I press 1 and pay a fine. Its not something I would fall for, but there are a lot of confused and vulnerable people out there, people who run these scams want shooting :red: :rant:

I had one of those ambulance chasers ringing me up explaining that they'd been informed of a road accident and they could potentially help me.

Was it my fault they asked. "Well sir, I don't think it was my fault, but the magistrate claimed I was to blame for running the children over outside of their school."

Few comments about alcohol as well and surprisingly they put the phone down and I've never had a phone call back. Had one about needing to install anti-virus.

Do this.. do that... follow this instruction... all in all it took about five minutes. What does the message on our screen say sir? "K'off you...."

Worth warning the vulnerable.
Phone call ;
"Your Amazon Prime is about to be charged £79 for the year ,if you want to cancel press1".
Press 1 to a scam artist.
Another one is the real company making it hard to see how to make an order without a trial 'Prime' subscription they hope you forget about. Avoid the pigs and go direct.
