A retrial is almost certainly going to happen now...

I think the only thing that stopped her from being nailed first time was the defence claiming contaminated evidence, a la Pistorius. Her lies (accusing an innocent man), her weird behaviour, DNA matches, all linked her to the murder, but somehow she got off.

Hopefully she won't be as lucky next time.

If found guilty America will have to extradite her, and will.

They won't extradite her for the trial, but if she is found guilty she'll go.

Considering how hard they tried to extradite a man with autism for hacking government computers, I can't see how they wouldn't send her back if necessary.

It's a massive difference when it's a US citizen though. The current extradition agreement between America and the UK is a joke, heavily in favour of the US. There's no reason to think to same wouldn't be the case with Italy.
