Listening to the Chelsea v Man Utd game on talksport and Collymore was nearly spunking his pants over that save from Cech. Then for the rest of the day they wouldn't stop talking about it...according to talksport cech arched his back, flipped, did a triple salko, a few somersaults, and still managed to tip the ball over. I see on the BBC, Mcnulty is lauding it equally as much.

So I took a look.....Now, I'm not saying it wasn't a good save and good reflexes...but he just basically stuck his arm out as he was falling the wrong way. He didn't re-adjust, he didn't jump or flip...he just stuck his arm out and the ball hit his hand and went over.

Why can't people see that?

In fact when they interviewed cech after the game they asked him if it was his best ever save....he said no. I can't believe people tried to say it was the best save the competition had ever seen.

Always happens when a goalie makes an average save. Sometimes ya see a compilation of the best saves of the week, they're pretty much straight forward. Rarely see classic full stretch finger tip top corner saves like Nev used to make.

Was a brilliant save. More for the anticipation than the technique or difficulty. No better than Howards on that score.

To assess a save it has to be seen at full speed. The Cech save WAS amazing.

you are missing my point. I said good reflexes, but really, he just stuck him arm out like 99% of keepers do in that situation. I am not saying it wasn't a good save...but I think there was more than a touch of luck about it. Good save yes....best ever..of course not....probably not even best of the week

Sure Southall used to make saves like that every week.

Yes he did. There's a fuss being made because people need to sell papers and a athe game didn't involve any form of controversy, it's now save of the season.

It was a good save yes, but looked more spectacular than it actually was.
