4th generation Evertonian, since 1981. My Great Grandad, from Wicklow, I'm told was part of the congregation that helped build what was then St.Domingo's FC. Middle name is Robert, after Bob Latchford.

Met a bird on a weekend in Manchester about 5 years ago & it turned out we'd been on holiday in Salou, Spain, at exactly the same time in 1995. We'd have both been around 14. As we get deeper into conversation & I tell her I spent most of the holiday in my Everton shirt, she goes: "I can vaguely recall my Dad going 'look at that nobhead with #18 PARKINSON on the back of his shirt'" - that nobhead was me.

Great love for Sheeds, Nev & all of the 1983-87 side as a little kid, but the Dogs of War got me at just the right time when I was making my own mind up, and Joe was always my favourite.

Sit in the Main Stand, just in front of where my arl Grandad is interred.

Pineapple on a pizza is sound. Not my first choice, but if you pair it up with the right toppings it can be sheer liquid wonderment.

Here's one, you know the shortening of the word 'casual' - how the f*** do you spell it?

Cheers everyone

James

Welcome mate. Not so welcome is you liking Pineapple on Pizza mate, thats decidedly not sound.
Hopefully you enjoy the forum, there seems to be less melts on here than other interwebs places, but as a word of advice, take everything that is said with a pinch of salt and pepper, as much is said in jest. Oh and bin the POP opinion, otherwise the likes of @fatshark will be following you round like a lovelorn puppy

Welcome mate. I promise not to pee on your shoes while you're here.

But you might want to consider putting @Kiwi on ignore soonest. At least until a ship with a cargo of pineapples actually makes it to NZ and he's had the chance to review his poor advice.

Cheers mate, yeah I'm quite thick skinned anyway. Spend alot of time on a boxing forum, they're a mixed bag.

in joke mate.

hedging my bets.

welcome along lad. Enjoy.

Fair enough mate. Let me know who buzzes off it.

Welcome mate

Cheers mate.

Welcome James. If you can put that holiday story into verse, @tommye will be made up.

Swerve that story, it's already been heard
Luckily most of my holidays are absurd
2 years on, Puerto Rico, lovely place
Lady Di's just got a Merc on her face

So as the word spread that Lady Died
We sat in the bar fuming as the nation cried
Filled with anger, but not for her plight
Cos they postponed the match, Newcastle & The [Poor language removed]

How's that?

Hello squire.

Easy dred.

Cheers for the welcome mate. I don't put people on ignore, it's for the mentally weak.

Plus, it's an Everton forum, if my belief that the majority of us are classy operators is shattered I'll be crushed. The ignore button won't help.

Failte James or is that Hames?

Whatever happened to that bird you met? I live in Wicklow - where was your Grandad from?

Cheers mate, just James.

As for what happened with the bird, mostly just brewer's droop followed by a bit of shame that kicks me in the guts every few years when I recall the intricate details, like right now.

Not sure where exactly in Wicklow to be honest mate, been meaning to trace it for years. I know my great Uncle Liam had 2 Butchers in Wicklow & Tullamore in the 1800's, but that's about it.

No worries there. Quality bunch of lads here, if a bit fascist about pizza toppings. Be warned there are tons of in-jokes floating around though, and the local vernacular can be as confusing as all hell. Suggest you take a look here if you haven't already: http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/t...-colourful-words-appendix-2010-version.29081/

My dodgy mental status aside, would like to point out that I was kidding about the ignore (clearly my banter needs work, thanks for the heads-up). Wouldn't know how to for starters and haven't ever had to try (ignore button?), so you've come to the right place. Enjoy.

Welcome again James, the third time I have said this to you :bye:

This another in-joke mate?

If you mean 'Scouse' by 'local vernacular' - no problems there mate, I'm a Scouser. I'll check the in-joke lowdown though, cheers.

Yeah I've never bothered with learning the specifics of how to 'ignore' myself. I'm far too nosey to miss out on poor grammar, typos, incorrect statements, or anything else I can be a blert & jump on.

Alright mate.

You said you like boxing, what about MMA?

That McGregor lad fights on Saturday in Dublin, heard good things about him.
