Alleged police brutality in Anfield (the area)

There isn't any justification no.

But

There is a reason. And that is what will get lost in all of the coverage. No-one will ask why the police did this. As this isn't a common practice then there is a reason behind it that interests me. Doesn't make up for what has happened and you hope the police are called to account for their actions and are punished accordingly. No matter what they crossed the line and that is a failure to their badge.

But always a reason

It's their job to ignore said "reason" though isn't it?

Society has and does have a set of rules and procedures in place to deal with acts it deems illegal or immoral. The police are there to enforce these standards lawfully and consistently. It really doesn't matter the provocation or what their personnel opinion is, while they are being paid they are paid to enforce the law in a fair and proportionate manner, and allow moral judgement to be undertaken at the next stage along.

There seems to be a confusion as to this role, often from Police Officers themselves who are often under the mis-apprehension their opinion on a crime in any way matters to the process. They are paid lackeys serving the general public.

Imagine if a was a kopite doctor started turning people away because he doesn't like Evertonians.

I'm not arsed either way to be honest. I had to take a detour as the road was closed off. Wasted a whole 10 minutes of my day. I was livid.

So all these people who saw it and are talking to the Echo ..... not one of them had theier phoen to hand to record it? Or have i missed something?
