Allegations of match fixing vs Cameroon

It wouldn't change a damn thing for me. Its not like the 4-0 Croatia result even helped the Croats progress.

Cameroon have lived long enough on the memories of 1990 and have been flattering to deceive ever since. If the allegations for this WC are proven true, they probably need to go back a little further and investigate 2010 too...

These allegations are a welcome deflection from the real questions that should be put to the Cameroon and Ghana FAs. Both Cameroon and Ghana were embroiled in pay disputes on the eve and during the World Cup. The mind boggles at how Ghana still pay their players in bags of hard cash, when most of the squad are multimillionaires playing in Europe and have bank accounts. The reaction of the players this World Cup also indicates the lack of trust between players and FA. All an indication of how badly some African federations still run their football. In that light it would not be a surprise if the allegations are proved true - if financial commitments to players are not being met and this becomes public knowledge, it's blood in the water to match-fixers.

The worrying thing is, if the allegations are proved, I am not that surprised in this day and age.

If proved beyond reasonable doubt, they should be banned from 2018 and 2022 - maybe then an interesting side will debut, such as Botswana, Mali or Burkina Faso

Don't forget that these FAs have horrific relationships with their own players
- and note that its the cameroon FA thats brought it up, not FIFA
Thats why these pay disputes exist in the first place- these Federations do little/nothing to aid their domestic development and reward themselves with huge cash bonuses when their players make it to the finals.
But if match fixing did occur, the players involved should be banned from football.
