Aliens though...

I think when you look at stuff like the Kepler mission which has found over 1000 planets that could sustain human life, the chances of us being alone in the universe seem slim to me.

At the moment the chance of travelling to these planets seem equally slim. At the moment we are trying to find a way to travel to Mars, and these "exoplanets" are much further away. But one day we may have the technology to do it.

If we found a new world with alien life forms which were technically inferior to us, what would we do? There is no need to go in fighting if our technology is superior, it’s expensive and pointless.

Recon missions to find their usefulness etc.

Ensure they never get more powerful than us – we could take this a step further and ‘guide’ their civilisation and development for our own gains.

Control their resources = control their planet, you could use Monarchy, Religion or use Capitalism, you need only control a very small portion of the population to control the planet.

You need never announce you are even there if you have the technology to remain anonymous.

ffs man, what sort of neo colonial oppressor are you!

Does 'The Prime Directive' mean nothing to you?

UFO does not necessarily mean 'aliens.' They are a light or radar blip not that the government have opted not to release information on. Still, it could be aliens.
