Alien vs Aliens

So I watched Alien again last night.. and I stand by my opinion that it's one of the most over-rated movies of all time. It's so painfully slow paced, and hasn't dated well at all.

By contrast I just love Aliens. It's James Cameron doing what James Cameron does best.

I know they are very different films, but imo the original can't hold a candle to its masterfully crafted all-guns-blazing follow up.

Tough shout, but Aliens is one of my favorite ever films so has to win, Alien was absolute quality though.

More suspense, more dread.

Aliens is still seriously great though but its more of an action flick than the first one and I tend to prefer slower paced stuff with less action when it comes to sci-fi and horror.

Totally different style of films.
The first is amazing for the suspense and horror elements, I wa a lucky enough to persuade the girlfriend to watch it with her being one of the few people unaware of the chest buster scene. I do feel you have to be in the mood for it though
The second is a masterpiece though and is far more enjoyable as a popcorn movie. You can see how it has influenced so many games and movies since
