West Ham have joined Aston Villa and Everton in scouting Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason.

The 24-year-old Iceland international has scored 19 goals in 22 games for the Dutch side this season.

Finnbogason joined from Helsingborgs in Sweden in the summer and has previously played for Lokeren in Belgium.

The Hammers have Marouane Chamakh and Andy Carroll respectively on loan from Arsenal and Liverpool, but it remains to be seen if either deal is to be made permanent, while the budgets of Villa and Everton are also rather restrictive.

From his Wiki

"Born in Reykjavík, Finnbogason played for Fjölnir's youth teams while also spending a part of his childhood in the Scottish capital Edinburgh while his father studied in the city.[1] Finnbogason played for the reputed boys football club Hutchison Vale and became a fan of Hibernian"

His dad supports Hibs but he likes Hearts style of play

ITS ON LIDS

Don't see this happening. Just because we will dither, not offer the agreed amount and then watch somebody else sign him up!

I think the fact that we don't have a manager for next season means any transfer rumours are a bit silly at the moment.

But I like this kid.

Its March 2014 and Finnbogason has not lived up to his promise. This late into the season he has only scored 3 goals and proven himself to be out of his depth at this level.
No no no everyone cries, he's being played out of position on the wing, and he hasn't yet recovered from his knee injury, put your faith in the manager, in Steve Bruce we trust.
Finnbogason out!

He'll have a great first season then Moyes will introduce him to our 'tactics' which will involve him running towards the corner flag.
