Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian
The Unobstructed View
I have to admit, I'm always intrigued by the electronics stuff that they have in Aldi, but is it any good ?
You know the stuff, Medion and Tevion being the brands. I remember when they 1st started selling p.c.'s and it was said that nowhere else could compete with them for the amount of shiz you got for the price, with the camper-outers waiting up all night to get their hands on the gear.
These days they are knocking out allsorts, like freeview dongles for your computers, photo scanners, dvd converters, audio converters, action cams for strapping on your bonce etc etc etc, seems like every time you go in there's something that makes you go 'wow, that seems like a decent deal.' I often wonder if the bigger companies bung stuff out under their brand names to test their tech, and also the market (they used to do similar in n.z. as with a small population they wouldn't need to produce as many to test the water with new products).
Something i saw last week was a 19" widescreen hd ready lcd telly, had the now obligatory built in free view, but also a built in p.v.r. with a usb port and 8mb (i think) memory stick for recording onto and pausing live tv etc, you could also use the usb to watch movies and stuff from your pc. I did say not long ago that this had to be the next thing to be added to t.v.'s so fully expect larger ones to start featuring it.
A product they have sold for a while now is an mp3/portable video player (i know it's not an ipod ghost but not ipod price either) they have upped the memory in the customary fashion and it's now 8mb, has a colour screen etc can be used to play music, view pics, watch video. all for the princely sum of £29.99, now as I say they have sold these for a couple of years now so really, they mustn't be a bit of [Poor language removed] kit.
so, anyone bought any of the Aldi gear ? was it a piece of crap or was it well worth the wedge ?
