Alcohol … how’s your relationship with it ?

Probably been a thread on this before but I can’t be arsed looking.
Personally I enjoy a few beers, probably more than I should to be honest. My shift pattern is great in that I work 4 days on 8 days off. I never drink the night before work but enjoy a few tins at home on my first day off. I like to go out on a Friday (if not working) and have a few beers with friends but at home I do like a couple of beers most nights … never to excess but occasionally have more than 2 or 3. I’d say I’ll have a beer on 4 or 5 of my nights at home. Statistics will say that this is too much I suppose but it is what it is. I’m saying this, I can take it or leave it… doesn’t bother me at all if I go a few weeks without a beer. Just curious to know where others stand (or fall down) on this.

I drink six nights a week because I'm an exciting and glamorous person.

By long habit I don't drink Tuesday nights. Tonight for example. This hasn't made me any less exciting or glamorous. Oh no.

My drinking decreased as I got older. Used to drink every weekend in high school now I rarely drink. I never drink alone and tend to only have a drink or two at social occasions.

I've tried to not get in a loop with drinking as I've had family members really struggle with it

I drink Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays. Normally 2 pints and a whisky or 2, but much lighter on a Sunday. Some days the beer is replaced by a bottle of red wine - especially if pizza is involved. I drink slowly and never to get drunk - I love the flavours. If friends are involved there might be an evening of 4 pints.

When I was teaching Friday nights were far heavier affairs and it wasn't just about the flavour.
