Coming up to the Reading match next weekend and am trying to work out what to do in the evening, We are staying at the Novotel in the city center, Is the Albert Docks a good night for something to eat and a few drinks for a mid 30's couple and would we feel too old down on Mathew Street these days??

Any other suggestions for a good night in the city center please say!!!

Gusto is good for food, The Pumphouse is good for pints. You're already near the city centre, so take your pick from tons of places there.

You'd be sound at the top end of Matthew St. towards the cavern. The docks is alright too something for everyone. If you want a brilliant night out get tickets for the comedy club on the docks.

Gusto or Carter and Miller for food in the dock then get over the road into the Bierkeller in Liverpool 1 for drinks. loads of nice German beers in there.Be decent night.
