Alan Hansen Under Fire for Racist Language

I think LFC and associates are painting themselves into a corner here.

Remember that lovely song USA For Africa did: "We Are The World"?

They should bring a version of that record out with all the proceeds going to Luis Suarez's 'fighting fund' or summink.

Can't you just picture the video????

O ffs. I saw that and KNEW people were going to kick off. That wasn't even an offensive word up until like a year ago or some ****. There was no intent ffs. It's not 'racist language' either ffs. Racism is prejudice against someone because of the colour of the skin. There was no prejudice from him. He was just being old fashioned with his language and needs to bring himself up to date.

"Coloured" hasn't been considered acceptable language for a couple of decades. Hansen's a dinosaur and possibly the most biased pundit on the box. Any excuse to get him off the BBC is good enough for me. I absolutely loathe him, and watching MOTD would be a much better experience if he wasn't on it.

Again you're using your personal hatered of him to affect how you feel he should be dealt with. This is nothing more than a mis use of a word. Actually what he was saying was a good thing, about how there is always room for improvement in tackling racism in football. He needs to update his language, but he wasn't being racist. Nothing to see here. Just the mass liberal hysteria again. ****ing hell they piss me off.

This. In every way this. I saw it and thought he'd get in trouble.

Where I grew up that was the term people used, i lived in an old fashioned town. It was only when I moved south that I realised it was perhaps incorrect.

He just needs to realise its 2011 not be in trouble.

I know. I never made any pretence otherwise.
