I played in the Holland Cup with my club team about 15 years ago. We got to see Ajax play at Amsterdam Arena as they were hosting a small pre-season tournament with Valencia, AC Milan, and Liverpool. It was my first professional football match and was a fantastic experience. I've been an Ajax fan ever since.. they're my second favorite team (after Everton of course). I just find the BPL more entertaining to watch than the Eredivisie.

You'll have a great time, no doubt. Have you ever been to the Netherlands?

No mate first time. But I'm looking forward to it. Is it easy to get to the ground? Went and watched dortmund v wolfsburg last season probably one of the best games Iv been to for atmosphere.

We went to watch Ajax v Feyenoord a few years ago (ajax won 5-1 with Suarez scoring a hat-trick), its a nice ground with a good atmosphere, it's a bit out from the city centre but you can get the train to the station right outside the ground from Amsterdam Centraal.

Ok mate. Cheers for that.

The club is also particularly famous for its renowned youth program that has produced many Dutch talents over the years – Johan Cruijff, Edwin van der Sar, Dennis Bergkamp, former national team top scorer Patrick Kluivert, and former national team coach Marco van Basten. Dutch national first-team players Rafael van der Vaart, Ryan Babel, Wesley Sneijder, Maarten Stekelenburg, Eljero Elia, André Ooijer, John Heitinga and Nigel de Jong had also came through the ranks at Ajax and all are now playing for top-flight clubs. Ajax also regularly supplies the Dutch national youth teams with local talent.[25] First team regulars Siem de Jong, Urby Emanuelson and Gregory van der Wiel are former youth internationals who made the successful step up to the senior side

Not a bad record on youth have they?

They have a superb youth squad, not sure what has happened with these three though.

Often been problems with Ajax youngsters from what I recall........ Kluivert !!

In fact when I lived in Wijk-aan-Zee there was talk of Van Gaal who also lived there wanting them to buy a Hotel there and moving their academy so as to get the kids out of Amsterdam.
