Ooo, the anorak plane spotters would have loved an opportunity I had a couple of years ago. Before departing for Guam, the ASDS was loaded onto a C-5. It was parked out in the middle of the runways/airplane parking for Hickam Airforce Base/Honolulu International Airport. Someone had to be with the ASDS at all times (batteries were installed, we had to monitor) and it was my turn. There was no crew with the plane, I had the run of the entire C-5. Got to look at all of it, sat in the pilots seat, played with the stick (oo-err). Also we were parked our almost next to the runway. Got to see all kinds of stuff come in to land and take-off, both military and commercial. F-15's, F-22's, C-5's, C-17's and a plethora of all types of commercial.
One thing I noticed, the Hawaiian airlines pilots are a bit 'fighter pilot'. The come in on a steep curve and dive and pull out right before landing. The other airlines take a long gentle descent and turn, lining up nice and straight for their landing.
