Player Valuation: £40m
Daniel Agger has criticised Roy Hodgson's long ball tactics, saying that he is a footballing defender. It's unlikely to go down well at Anfield.

We were in for the Dane before he joined the dark side. I would love Distin and Agger to do a swap across Stanley Park. Ofcourse it isn't going to happen, but I can dream.

He's a left sided centre-back with an eye for goal who can also cover at left back. Plus he's 6 ft 3 and only 25. He would be the player we've been missing since Lescott departed for City.

He put on the [Poor language removed]'s kit, there's no coming back from that. Wouldn't take him. Just my opinion though I could be wrong.

Did somebody point out to Agger that his crappy defensive play and subpar passing in their half is one of the reasons why they had to play hoof ball? I'm guessing Roy knows alot more about Agger's game than Agger does.

Anyone who criticises their manager is on a collision course with the reserves...

If our players criticised Moyes, Right OR Wrong. I'd be livid.

You have to keep your house in check.

If a player criticises Moyes in a 1-2-1 meeting or on the training ground, and they have a conversation, then fair do's, but don't tell the public/papers, they ain't going to do anything about it...just makes him look like a right MELT!!

Agger must fancy himself as a Beckenbauer-type Kaiser. I hadn't noticed his footballing prowess before now, tbh.

He'll be down the road in January playing for Brondby or some other crack Danish outfit.

This will be followed by the obligatory "I was misquoted" article, or "lost in translation, saying everything is fine and Anfield and they don't hoof the ball up the pitch. It's a nothing story.

You didnt, did you? Surely not?

"The TV journalist asked me what I needed to do to get back into the team and suggested I should start hitting more long balls. I said I wouldn't do that because I'm not that kind of player. That's where that quote came from."

Hardly disagreeing with the journalsit, though, was he?I dont understand the issue here anyway. They've had one tactic for at least two seasons: knock it long to Torres and get up there to support him.

Agger is exactly what we need a reel ballplaying defender. He has as good a range of passing as any defender in the world. Normally I'm not speaking positively about Danish players as they are currently very crap, but this guy is the real deal!
