Ageing Squad

Moyes in 2011 along with Phil Neville and also Martinez in 2013 mentioned our ageing squad and a rebuild is needed now various pundits over the last six month have argued the same.

Has Koeman mentioned he wants to rebuild around a younger side?

I've said it for years myself and various clubs have done this when struggling and are now reaping the rewards. An older squad constantly needs replacing and you can never be consistent for years on end with it.

Spurs did it 6/7 years ago and are reaping the rewards, Liverpool now have a policy of only signing u26 players I think bar exceptions and AC Milan who were struggling for years got rid of dead wood and now have a very promising young side after investing in younger players and bringing them through.

Once Rom leaves in the summer as expected we really do need to address the issue. It's not just that the squad is old but it's full of old players who offer nothing who are clogging up the wage bill on the bench.

Exactly another ageing player who is past his best. It worries me he wants players like him and doesn't seem to want to youthen the side

Think we need a ready made proven PL CB after Stones was sold that's why he is signed.

Koeman wants a pressing game. This pressing game is not new it's been around years but the intensity of playing it today means u need young energetic players. The others across the park have brought the players in to play it to a great level. Our players are too old. 10 outfield players are used in a pressing tactic. Jags baines barry in particular dont have the legs anymore. Lukaku seems like he isn't interested in that work rate. That's 4 out of 10 that we start with that actually can't play the game because of legs or willingness so Koeman whole plan goes out the window. He needs youth in his squad and first 11. Players like gana bolaise even Mccarthy are the players that this system will work with. Can they play ball is another story..

It's good to see we are being linked with Dolberg and Sule, but I've heard these stories before in the past and we end up with mediocre and cast offs. I think if we replace Barry and Jags with two top younger players in the summer that will be the start
