Player Valuation: £225k
I'm organising a Everton dinner for the end of April, someone has told me they recently attended a similar type of event where Duncan Ferguson was the guest speaker. Has anyone seen him doing this sort of thing??

I personally cant see it myself but i hope to be proven wrong. Also can you recommend any ex players who you have seen???

cheers

Only time I've ever seen or heard of Dunc doing an event was the BK hall of fame thing a while back. I'd love to see it if he does though.

Of those I've seen Big Nev, Mountfield and Diamond are all worth the money.

I got Snods last year, he was brilliant and i highly recommend him to you all. We booked him a hotel as he was on radio city the next morning, it was like he was one of the lads. Ended up in town with him after the event had finished till about 2am. great night. Something tells me Big Nev would like his beer. might inquire about him

I think Nev is teetotal mate

Doubt it mate, has never touched a drink in his life (well apart from one pint he had in his teens)

Get Bill Kenwright mate

Who better to tell a few storys than the "Greatest living Evertonion"

Snods is just behind HK for one of the most disappointing I've seen. Nice bloke but not an entertaining speaker, unless you just want to hear about the drinking and hardly any footy.

Joe Royle is good, really nice bloke and very honest, something for everyone as he covers such a long period too. Ratcliffe tells some good stories, as does Sheedy.

I'd love to hear Reidy to be fair. I think Duncan Mackenzie was good as well but it was so long ago.

That's two polar opposite opinions for Snods there.

His book's excellent, and I like him on the radio. Him and Sharpy are the only two reasons City is on my car radio.

If the story above is correct, I'd love to see Duncan as a speaker, and Nev would be good, I think.

Been to see Big Nev, he was awful. Im sorry but didnt enjoy him at all. Duncan mckenzie was good, havnt seen Joe Royle but heard he was good. Norman Whiteside was also good, but not sure if he still does it.

Southall is great if youve got a lot of good questions to ask him. Peter reid fantastic but hard to pin down. Duncan McKenzie and Joe Royle are the best at actual after dinner speaking.

Just to support my view on Snods being disappointing. 2 out of the 10 people on our table fell asleep when he was talking, and about half of those awake started playing with their phone instead of listening.

I guess it depends on what you want from the speaker, Snods seemed more interested in talking about going for a pint. His story about the Wimbledon game was decent but a lot of it made up. Royle is such a good speaker anyway, very easy to listen to, and when Joe Royle speaks, everyone listens. His tales of his career and the Royle family sitting opposite the Everton owners etc. were very well received. I'd imagine Reidy to be fairly similar.
Ratcliffe and Sheedy were not great public speakers to be fair, but they had stories that kept you entertained and gave you a closer look in to their experiences.

But as I said, it depends on what you're looking for.
