They're both pretty poor compared to Europe. South America has even fallen off. Argentina are a shell of themselves and Chile are at the end of the era. Its basically Brazil Uruguay and Colombia that are good at the moment. But that makes sense when all the money is in Europe. It's sad how much African football has fallen. At this point, African football is far behind Asian football.
South America has fallen off as Brazilian football has declined. South America is economically not good enough to compete with Europe anymore. Although I see a change in the direction of football in the future. I can see Japanese/Korean football one day becoming a potential rival to European football, although it would still be a relative weak rival, but with the money in East Asian football, the football culture and the talent, they can definitely rise to a good standard. They're both pretty poor compared to Europe. Europe should dominate for the foreseeable future. When the other nations have to draw players from their home leagues they are at a far inferior level. England gets made fun of for having to call up someone like James Ward-Prowse but he would be the best midfielder on a USA team calling up Bradley and Will Trapp.South America has fallen off as Brazilian football has declined.
