Advice needed, car clamped.

So in short my car has been clamped due to no car tax. An oversight after we moved house last year and never changed address so never got reminder letters etc. M.o.t. is up on it 2 months ago so can't just tax it and pay the fine.
Car isn't worth anything so I'm happy if they just destroy it but will there be any more comeback/fines further down the line?
Can I just ignore this problem?

Go online and declare it SORN I think. I think if you just leave it where it is clamped then either it will eventually get towed, or you'll get grief of the local council for not moving it I would imagine.

I think you'll get a fine anyway and they'll charge you for removal and crushing it.

...I fear it's better to pay the fine or it might well increase but I'm sure folk can advise better.

Put a Liverpool scarf in the window mate.
Call DVLA and say you will pay fine when your bet on the Reds winning the league comes in.

They will have it all sorted for you within minutes.

If you're happy to be shot of the car, strip it down for parts, flog the parts and pay your fine that way.

While it's clamped everything in the car is still lawfully your property - the only thing that belongs to DVLA is the clamp, so don't touch that

If you're seriously not too bothered about losing the car, contact the police, explain the circumstances and ask if you can arrange for the car to be removed and crushed. Otherwise they will impound it and charge for storage until they get round to crushing it.
