always worn gear to: West Ham, QPR, Arsenal, Watford, Norwich, Fulham, Palace, Spurs.

Never any trouble, is united really that different ?

It can be if you're walking round town.
I generally swerve wearing colours at Old Trafford

Handy tip for anyone driving, the Lowry park is about 6 pound but you can get that back of anything you buy in the shoping center, ciggies, Yogurt in Holland and Barrett, meffy clothes anything that takes your fancy
They stopped that...
You have to pay for parking now regardless of what you buy

I'm going to old Trafford as well. Also going to Anfield. Can't wait!

I do think it's crazy you can't wear your colors. You guys are insane.

Little boys wearing big boots im afraid. You get 10 drunk late teenagers and its like they are the marines. Used to live in Sale which is the posher end. But colors id swerve like id swerve a bus ;)

just 'have your wits about you,' I'm kind of presuming that you are visiting without a scouse accent ? in which case nobody will probably even realise you are a blue (unless you are attending in a morph suit or something), if it's city centre drinks then Canal Street is the place.
If staying in manc for the evening frivolities then there is a network of canals & pathways, however using them for short cuts isn't advised (look up 'The Pusher').
They are a bit of a different breed around Manc/Salford & if you are wearing the latest fashions or good trabs they'll be on to you straight away.

Canal Street!!!!

What are you trying to do to the guy.

You can drink safely pretty much anywhere in the City centre. I'd go to the Northern Quarter.

I'll be having a pint or three in the Quadrant behind the cricket ground...it's a big Utd pub but every season there's a group of fellas in there in their Everton tops and me without colours and I've seen no sign of trouble. I sit in their end for this fixture as I can never get one in our end...did the Oviedo game and the 4-4 and celebrated all the goals....that's what ale does. Got a bit hairy in the Oviedo one ha ha

Yep I agree - lived in the city centre for 6 years and honestly unless you are clearly a football fan in the centre it's fine but yeah near the stadium is a bit dodgy.

Personally I'd drink in castlefield where I used to live before the match as you'll avoid most football fans entirely but that's personal preference. From there can get the tram. Northern quarter good too as said above.

If you wanted somewhere near the ground the dockyard at media city (next to the BBC buildings would be a good one as you can walk from there but again I doubt they'd let you in with football colours on.

There are better places than canal street that's for sure....

You can, and be fine, until one day you bump into one of the many idiots that hang around outside, and then wish you hadnt.

Besides I have had "scouser" comments in Manchester when there hasnt even been a match on, its a big city with a lot of nobs in it
