So just heard from my 16yr old nephew that he had a house party last Sat night whilst his parents were staying with us.

He told me as he wanted advice as to should he confess all or sit tight and hope nobody finds out and tells his parents.

It was a bit of a party at their house. Maybe 50 kids. Neighbours called police at 3am due to noise apparently. He said police turned up but nothing came of it. A crowd stayed over and left at 10am about two hours before the parents got back.

It's been a week now and parents are none the wiser. He's spooked as a lot of kids are chatting about it on Facebook and his mum sometimes reads his. Also a few of his cousins of a similar age know about it etc.

His dad has a serious angry head so the lad's looking at a hefty punishment if/when this gets out.

If this reads a bit funny its because I've known the lad since he was a year old whereas his "dad" is a stepdad that came on the scene later.

I instinctively told him he had to tell his folks but said I'd have another think. There's a bit of damage here and there that hasn't been spotted yet to also consider.

The party was in Formby if any of the younger GOTs went to it...

So any words of advice out there?!

Guessing it's your sister's kid yeah? In all honesty, in your situation, I'd tell him to fess up but do it with you in attendence in case this stepdad goes a bit anti.

If no damage was done to the house and the neighbours aren't long term aggro about it, then the kid has done nothing much wrong.

I'd also have a word with your sister about the stepdad's angry approach to things. Not on that really.

Tell him to bounce into the living room wearing a thong and high heels whilst there watching Eastenders and say "I had a ****ing massive party yer, AND WHAT" then proceed to take a piss into the fire place

No - wife's sister's lad as it happens. He's a sound kid and as you say its all after the event now etc. If it was my lad I'd give him a right bollocking etc but that'd be about it. Whereas he's probably looking at something like being grounded and no phone/computer for two months if they find out!
