I think the best way to do this is via post count. In other words, members with "x" amount of posts can view the forums content.

To be honest if a member was unknown after 300 posts they couldnt have ever written anything constructive and should therefore be banned anyway!

The thing is the interest will just disappear, happened somewhere else i help run and people found another way to get downloads as there are many sites out there.

I think the old famous 'reply to see download' was the best.
