Reminds me of an old mining town I visited in Namibia years ago. You could walk in the buidlings on one floor, walk up the sand and come out of the 1st floor windows!There's a place about 40 min from me, near the Oman border.
In the late 80s a small village was built for a bedouin tribe to move into, they didn't stay more than a couple of years as the decided the desert life was more enjoyable.
The sand reclaims a little more each year.
