OK, a bit of a big title, but I have to say that I'm simply sick of feeling that everything Everton is heading south and that I can't do anything. Well we all can. We can move beyond the "fcuk the board" response to issues and do the biggest thing we can do, unite Evertonians under a set of aspirations which I call an "Everton agenda" or a set of principles to which all Evertonians can sign up to irrespective of which grouping that they belong to;

What I'm trying to do can be encapsulated in the following;

Part 1: Set out broad areas to which I am seeking a form of words which encapsulates the theme. You can add a theme, but the themes that I have suggested at present are;

1. Youth development
2. Commercial activities
3. Clubs relations with the fans
4. Stadia development
5. Greater sense of fan share ownership
6. Management of Everton Football Club
7. Investment

For example, with stadia development, my draft priniciple would be "To develop plans for a new stadia in the boundaries of the city of Liverpool within the next five years" Others might wish to improve on this.

This would then be the "agenda" or standard, that we would use to hold the board to account. Hopefully you get the idea.

Part 2: Consult wider and seek agreement on the agenda wording. This thread is a way of gauging opinion. If we can go beyond the usual 'kipper posts, I'd like to see how other forums react and then build up a picture which takes in everyone's opinion.

Part 3: Use it as the basis to produce our own investment brochure.

For this part, I'd need some help from those whose who are prepared to PM me. I'm talking about putting together a "glossy" pdf that Evertonians can download, but which "invites" people to invest in our great club. Think Arsenal fans and Adebayor but without the bitterness.

The idea is to try and get the Everton family to unite around a set of guiding principles to which we can hold the board or new investors to account.

I'm not asking you to march on GP, write letters or come to poorly attended meetings etc. I'm trying to get your ideas of a positive way forward.

Are you with me folks?

Thank you.

good stuff - count me in. Ill even write a song for you if this helped.

But i'll help in any way i can. We must take the initiative, stop moaning, get up and fight, fight, fight, with all our might!

Good idea mate. Its easy to just write posts telling Kenwright to do one (I have done it myself) but it doesn't really achieve anything.

This is really positive, I hope everyone gets on board with it.

Just tell us what we can do......

"The Everton Agenda."

Sounds a bit cliqueish.

Davek, I hope that the clique will be the mass of Evertonians all over the world.

You can add to that clique by making positive suggestions as to what you want to see in this developing agenda.

Go on, say something positive, it really doesn't hurt.

All this stage what I am looking for is input.

1) Have I covered all the broad themes?

2) Does anyone want to have a go at proving a set of words to make those themes real?

3) Are you able to assist in developing a pdf "sales" brochure (point 3)

To complete my comment with Davek, I have no plans to set myself up as some leader. I'm probably the most ill equipped person for such a role. I also am not in the business of setting up yet another organisation. I want this process to be driven by the contribution of Everton fans.

While the thread has started at GOT, I'll be posting exactly the same post in as many forums as will allow me to in the next few weeks or so.

....and yes, that facebook page will happen if there is some momentum.

Good idea,think if other Blues websites,forums etc could be linked would add more ideas,and strength.
Wouldnt mind being part of somthing that would try and improve the plight of our club!Instead of everybody being negative.

An apology to you Davek. I've re-read your post and you've picked up on a dilemma I had. I didn't call the thread "The Everton Agenda" precisely because it makes it sound like a new group, with secretaries, and other aparactiks. Its not a new group in that sense, think more of a movement of ideas with no secretariat, "leader" etc.

You can kill a leader, you can't kill a good idea whose time has come.

I am guessing this approach is in response to the current state of the club. In other words making the best out of Kenwright and the board that is in place.

I also wanted to ask about the themes. Are the numbers listed signifying order of importance? I don't have issues with your numbers, but I am just trying to get a feel for everything. Thanks in advance.

If Billwrong wants to make a huge profit (which he claims he doesn't) then focus on getting rid of the other two, that have ample funds but choose to sit back and watch the club potentially go down the pan.

"We, Everton Agenda 2011, and William kenwright esq, have had a further meeting today and are agreed in recognizing that the question of maintaining good relations is of the first importance.

We regard the agreement signed last night as symbolic of the desire of that the club and it's supporters never to go to war with one another again.

We are resolved that the method of consultation shall be the method adopted to deal with any other questions that may concern our two fine bodies, and we are determined to continue our efforts to remove possible sources of difference, and thus to contribute to assure the peace.

My good friends, for the first time in our history, Everton Agenda 2011 have returned from talks bringing peace with honor. We believe it is "peace for our time." Go home, take some Chang, and get a nice quiet sleep"

I will have a proper think about the themes you have suggested because I think they are all valid. The first thing that springs to my mind is that we need more transparancy from the board. For example where did the Pienaar money go and is Moyes going to get it in the summer. That is just the first thing that springs to mind.
