WHO THE HELL IS COACHING OUR DEFENCE?
Today, without doubt, was a very good game of football from both sides, but defensively, and I'm sorry to say it, we were utter [Poor language removed] once again.
Our handling of situations outside and around our box was shocking yet again, and this is not something that can be put down as mistakes anymore.
Infact I'm convinced that our players are being coached to 'back off' oncoming attackers, because for God only knows that is the exact thing we have been doing all season, and not just individually, but as a unit.
It has cost us dearly this season, with the largest leakage of goals that I can remember for a long time, and the majority of those have come from not stamping our authority onto oncoming threats.
I can't believe that Moyes thinks we can give players with the quality found in the Premiership, and indeed Europe, the amount of time and space in and around our box, and not be punished heavily.
I find it amusing to watch Moyes covering his face in anguish as another chance slips by from our attack, and not realise that 40,000 Everton fans are doing exactly the same, week in, week out, at the way we are defending our area.
This is not Scotland Davey.
This is the Prem, and the sooner you get it into your head that your way, or your coaches way, or whoever is damn responsible for the shocking defensive tactics our team are being taught to use the better.
It has been suggested by former players that Moyes style of coaching is to concentrate 100% on our defensive tactics.
All I can say is that if this is really the case, then please bring somebody in who actually knows how to defend, because your coaching skills are beginning to test my patience, and that of many other fans too.
Get help, and clear out the dead wood that is our coaching department, and bring in some experience for once.
