WTF?!
You've stumped me.
WTF?!
Been doing nth term linear algebraic equations with my Y6 class before we broke up.
Yeah.
They're 10.
Fantastic stuff.
It's not often two different lines of logic get you to the same answer in mathematic.
They look like dynamic young whippersnappers...
Drives me crazy.Fine Young Cannibals?
Different way but same answer and no need to imply anything is number squared + the number.9 = 90
8 = 72
7 = 56
6 = 42
3 = ?
Especially in a preset pattern that is basically a riddle. That's why when I saw my solution, I didn't bother looking for another!
Another way to get to the solution would be:
3=X where (X/3)*3=X
So with the information given:
9=90 = (90/9)*9=90
8=72 = (72/8)*8=72
7=56 = (56/7)*7=56
Etc.
Is it not n*(n-1), or did we already discuss that answer?
*edit for order of operations correctness, before we start that discussion again
Wouldn't it be:
X*(X+1)=Y
Which is basically what I did on my first answer...without it explained as an equation.
As a series maybe it doesn't matter? These are the same equation if x = n-1.
Don't let it be a division between us.Can't find logic in subtraction
1 3 5
2 4 ?
What's the answer... and it's not 6.
