It isn't, but I love motorsports a whole lot. F1 is 2nd to football, then WRC comes next.

But the gap from football to F1 is <------------------------------------------------------------> this wide (about as wide as you, actually :P )

OH MY GOD, MODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to love WRC, went to Wales a few times and watched a few stages, my mate nearly got killed by Colin McRae. He had been standing somewhere and a steward came up and said cant stand there lad. 20 mins later Colin comes round the corner and flys off right where my mate was standing. Awesome stuff watching them close up tho. They dont half fly.

WRC used to be ahead of F1 in my book....then it got very commercialized and started using the same stages over and over, all centralized around 1 central location. Add in the fact most of the manufacturers have dropped out and it is just a tad boring. That and Seb Loeb just wins it all, none of the top drivers make mistakes anymore.......

You probably come closer to death every time you step outside your house than the drivers and spectators of a Formula 1 event do.

Those cars are designed to come apart spectacularly, as that is all energy being absorbed and taken away from the driver. And the last spectator to die was back in the 90's when Villeneuve's wheel came off and hit a steward in Canada. Which lead to wheel tethers being implemented.

last wrc I went to was at trentham gardens with 6r4's and rs 200's, saw about 20 blokes dive into fernery as someone slid it round a bend and took out 20 cameras on tripods, feckin hilarious, the pic of the day would've been their arses diving for cover.

Not sure about that, my front door doesnt have 20-odd other ppl doing 200mph thru it!! That said thankfully F1 (and other motorsports) are a lot safer now, altho CART/Indycar has had a couple deaths since then (Dale Earnhardt Snr and Greg Moore I think). I remember watching the later's accident live and it was just one of those moments when you knew he wasn't getting out of the car :( Was a weird feeling.
