A Day In The Life

Woke up this morning and it feels like we live in a different world. Was in work (from home) all week and I suppose the mind was just concentrated on that, but waking up today and deciding how to spend my free time - it really hit home how bonkers and scary this whole situation is.

Enough rambling, I thought it might be good to have a thread where people chip in with how they're going to spend their day. Would help me to feel less isolated and would also hopefully give others some inspiration as to how they could spend their time too.

Today I'm about to eat a big bowl of muesli and have a cup of coffee whilst listening to a couple of records. Then i'll probably do a couple of hours of studying until I get bored of that and fire up Spiderman on the PS4. Then i'll be waiting for the missus to come home from work (about 8) and we're going to order some takeaway. My local independent pub/brewery has also reworked themselves as a takeaway business - so they're selling their beers and food that way instead for now.

Tempted by a walk outside because it looks lovely but not really sure if I'm supposed to be going outside of not?!

Anybody else have plans for today?

(I understand that there are threads for computer games, films, music, tv shows etc but thought it might be nice if people could just pop their head in here and see what everyone's doing)

....observing strict orders to stay in. There’s still horse racing in Ireland and it’s on telly this afternoon, so had a little bet. Rang one of my pub mates, he didn’t know the betting shops are shut and he has no idea about the Internet, so I‘ve told him to ring me with his selections and I’ll put an online bet for him.

This whole thing would be so much worst without the Internet.

Certainly have a few rum and ginger later whilst Mrs Eggs has her G&T.

Son (IT) and daughter-in-law (teacher) are working from home next week so plenty of granddaughter minding in store. Daughter is NHS, her husband a pharmacist so I expect we’ll be minding their dog lots as well. Others have it lots worst.

Cleaned the entire house.
Later - doing something in the garden for the wife's chickens.
Then making a stand for the wife's bird feeders.

Of course I never help out.

Then tidying my workshop and maybe restoring an engineering vice. Might get a run out in my old car so long as they haven't salted the roads.

Edit- oh and bottling 40 pints of homebrew :celebrate: :pint2:

You've just reminded me - I got a homebrew kit last year that I've never touched - Seems like a perfect time to have a crack!

Just waiting for 1.00pm to finish work. Stop off for some baccy, home, shower, Lunch, nap, post nap coffee with ham and cheese toastie, nature doc, guitar, beer/whiskey, Netflix, late dinner, film, bed.

While in the shower, I may take some inspiration from Kevin Spacey in American Beauty.
Always wanted to be an actor. If I ever go to acting classes, may do that scene as my audition piece.

By all accounts, kids are a big potential source of infection as they don't really show with symptoms...mine always seem to have some snotty nose / cough thing from school.

...absolutely, our granddaughter is similar, she always seems to pick something up from nursery. Wont be going there for a while, but It’s going to be difficult for us all keeping 100% safe.
