A change of formation? Poll

We have been playing with one striker for seemingly years. Martinez basically kept Moyes' formation of one striker, and Koeman has done the same so far.

These days most teams play with one striker. But does that mean we should too?

Koeman has been playing Lukaku up front with two wide men who he refers to as strikers, but they do not offer a goal threat.

I believe we need to be pro-active and change the formation now. I want 2 strikers in the team. I want a partner for Lukaku up top. I believe 3-5-2 and 4-4-2 are the best formations for us to do this. Coleman/Holgate can play as a right-sided centre-back in this formation. There would be casualties if we did this but after the 5-0 drubbing at Chelsea I think Koeman needs to freshen things up immediately.

It's getting stale and people are asking what our style is. I want us to fight for the champions league not to settle for top 8. 2 strikers would give other teams something to think about. We are relying on Lukaku for goals too much.

We have Valencia and Mirallas. Mirallas is hardly ever used up front, he's always supporting or wide. We have an agreement with West Ham to possibly buy Valencia for £14.5m so how about we stick him up front and see if he can develop a partnership with Lukaku.

Valencia is not very good...i dont know why we signed him.

Mirallas, perhaps but again, its not ideal.

Deulofeu was the one at the start of the season who koeman said would be used there...instead dropped.

If we signed Carsten Jancker's clone then perhaps he would get a game...interesring to see what type of forward we spend money on next....i think we need a rapid energetic player but who knows what we will end up with.

We could do with at least two energetic players. I was watching Giggs' 100+ goals in the Premier League on tv and was amazed how good he was. Pace, finishing, he was deadly. We need players of his ilk to challenge the top 4. But in the meantime how about we change our formation to include two strikers. Koeman says we rely on Lukaku too much but he won't play him up front with a partner?!

That is an interesting point. Deulofeu linked up well with Lukaku last season and them 2 up front would be very interesting imo. He can finish.

Its a tricky one...I think Koeman would like to have a 'target man' for his 'direct style' which means a big lump imo.

If we go 442 we would need 4 strikers really if we wanted to be successful. I think we should have signed one in the summer but the only 2 linked were gabbiadini whose offside all the time and needs 5 good chances to score + the player arsenal got.

Not inspiring...id go for high quality, high energy players like we have done with Gana. Get some in who have pace, if we had a couple like that yesterday then Chelsea would have at least had to think about the threat.

At the moment, nullify Barkley and we resort to long balls towards bolasie and lukaku and neither of them are target men.

@mixed_up I know Dembele was scouted as i was told from a decent source but he went to Celtic and is making it look like an amateur league...also did well in europe for them it seems.

Hard to know if the lower league / foreign players could improve us but this guy hits the back of the net and runs around alot which is already better than kone/valencia.

Before the summer if someone had given our back up strikers as kone/valencia and a youngster signed from sheffield no one would have believed it.

The most amusing thing is that koeman showed he could do well for southampton after a huge clear out....which is exactly what we needed in the summer and need to start in Jan and punt 15 odd players then and summer.
