...I visited the site in September 2006, pretty much a hole in the ground then but very eerie. A massive tragedy but amazing how life moves on, albeit leaving a footprint of change behind.

Through my job, i'm in regular contact with a lady called Maya Lin. She is best known as the designer for the Vietnam war memorial. She was actually selected as part of the jury for the World trade Center site memorial competition.
My sister is a 911 dispatcher and part of a national organization for dispatchers. She was in NY in the weeks after 9/11 for the NY dispatchers that were on the line talking with people in the towers as well as firefighters and police in the buildings. She can't talk about it to this day and she experienced it secondhand.
So my thoughts today for all those lost too soon and the many who lived, but will never be the same.

RIP all the innocent people who lost their lives on that day.
I just re-read my post on page 3. Those memories are still so fresh in spite of the years. It still hurts and I think it always will.
like most here the feelings and emotions are still so strong but that is understandable. so profound and unforgettable as the day it happened. The museum at ground zero is a must see.
I already said my piece a few days ago in that thread that was locked. A day I'll never forget...incredibly sad.
