Koeman also said it was different way of training because of different style of football and way of playing in the Premier league. Does this support the perception many of us had that the team where simply not fit enough under Martinez?

I mean i was watching them thinking effing hell why are they so unfit? Why are they so gassed? What is going on?

It was much more than perception, twas reality. Roberto clownn

Last season we played Southampton away in our second game and absolutely tore them apart, particularly with our pace on the break. Southampton were the ones who looked lacking in fitness, so maybe it is a Koeman thing rather than a result of Martinez and his ways.
I wouldn't judge the fitness of our team on one game. What Koeman has stated was the obvious...the team was unfit. We saw it with our own eyes over the course of last season. Using one game as an example I could refer to Southampton at home towards the end of the season. Southampton looked as fresh as a daisy, dominated us in all areas and we were on our knees clinking on. Southampton from Xmas onwards finished the season so strongly, that is a better indication of how fit they were.

cardio needs Weeks build up, not matter of days. Best way to judge them is to look at their time stamp for 2.4km run.

As a professional footballer, anyone that couldn't hit below 9 and a half mins is worrying.

RK being a little smart here. I am sure we are not 100% fit, but then I would say that no team is . It will probably take another four or five competitive games to get there for every team.
