Good return. The game today lowered my expectations somewhat though, I now think we are just an outside bet for top 4. We were bad today but I think the Gibson injury really disrupted our tactics and hopefully that new Belgium signing will be the replacement and not neville in future.

2 weeks until our next game and lets just stay positive, we were never going to win the league which means we will drop points here and there but out of them 3 games 6 points is very respectful and if we maintain that kind of form it will be a great season.

This line of thinking is stupid really, no offence mate.

One good performance doesn't allow a bad one. You can't overperform and then say we have a surplus of good performance so yeah let's excuse an awful one.

This was a tough tie but without Lukaku and Odemwingie on the bench, we should have been more positive. After Gibson's injury it just all went downhill and there are a lot of worrying questions that were posed.

The United game was always going to be an individual game. We showed many great qualities but what separates top sides is how they perform against the teams they should beat. Remember when Liverpool finished 2nd? United won the title even though the RS had an impeccable record against the big teams, and United's was poor. There are more Stokes and West Broms than Chelseas.

And Villa basically surrendered after our early goal. It's hard to judge a game that was over in the first half. This was our biggest test in the grand scheme of things and we failed in every way.

Think a lot of fans and myself went overtop with the last two performances the team still need to put in 100 per cent every game we can not expect to turn up and win games, hopeefully this can get the team back focused. The midfield was awful today espcially when gibson went off osman lacked any threat goin foward the same with neville who just drifted through the game, hopefully the belgium center mid afoe or whatever his name can hit the ground running

Great post mate. Spot on.

It completely negates the Man Utd result. It just means we've had an "OK" start to the season as I would have seen six points as breaking even before the season began.

However, the worrying aspect of today is how we haven't turned up against weaker opposition again.

Completely agree with RFUS above. I'm not going to kneejerk all over the place on this but you can't excuse this woeful performance just because of a decent one against United.

Well it was all about Gibson for me. When he was on we look assured, structured and comfortable. When he goes off the game becomes a bit of a free for all.

What i find funny/worrying is that we're all so distressed that a £1m signing from United whom many regarded as crap has become our lynchpin more so than even Fellaini.

It's not the result which concerns me, more the abject performance.

It was a typical Moyes-inspired performance today. Awful.

His team selections and fondness for the un-holy trinity of Neville, Osman and Hibbert will seemingly never be got rid of. This is an almighty Achilles heel.
