5th place and league cup winners or 4th and champions league group stage?

I think a 3rd place finish would rate higher than any silverware , it would mean we would finish ahead of either City Chelsea or Utd with a squad assembled costing as much as a couple of their high profile players ... Highly unlikely I know but stranger things have happened
 
Champions league = money and prestige.

This equates to better players joining.

The means we can challenge at the top level more economically.
 
Wouldn't Champions league finish us off as we couldn't pay all the extra wages out players would demand, and Europa league means a stretched squad and a drop in League position.

It's a strange game.

If we keep playing like this, it will be the pinnacle of this team and after a great season it will all be downhill from there due to the previous 2 points stated above. Lose/lose for us, but for the Sky 6 it's win /win because they and sky have cemented those teams in place. The rest of us just make up numbers.
 

CL all day long... I want us back as the big club we are, recognized through out europe's elite.

Not assed to just share Liverpool's achievements from last year!! In what arguably there worst season in alot of years.
 
I'd take 5th and FA cup over 4th any day of the week. I wouldn't be arsed with 5th and the League cup over 4th either. That is because if we are 4th I have no doubt that we will get drawn against someone like Bayern in qualifying.
