50 years ago tonight my dad took me to my first game at Goodison Park, Everton vs. Glasgow Rangers.

I can still remember it like it was yesterday, walking up from the concourse to our seats, the shock and the awe as I took in the wonderful sight of Goodison Park in it's floodlight majesty with just over 42,000 eager souls waiting for battle to commence.
That night sparked a love affair that will never end, there's been some good time's, there's been some bad time's and there's been some absolutely bloody wonderful time's over the last 50 years and long may it continue.

From the bottom of my heart, thanks dad

Wasn't there murder at that game?

My dad was at that game , wasn't it the "British Championship" ? Full of Glaswegians launching whiskey bottles he said !
Sounded a bit mad for 63
