Suicidal pessimism of some posters aside, my perception is:
Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea are the 3 clearly strongest teams.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham will be battling for 4th.
Everton lead the chase to try and break into the top 6, we're sort of on our own.
Villa and Fulham are good enough to be around the top 8 but equally I'd be annoyed if either finished above us.
Newcastle, Sunderland, Stoke, Bolton and West Brom are all much of a muchness. These teams are about 50/50 as to whether they have a good season and challenge 8th-ish, or get into a rut, a lot of injuries perhaps, and start hovering around 15th, potentially in danger.
The rest all have serious relegation worries to varying degrees. I think Wolves have enough about them to not be actually in the relegation zone much. QPR, Norwich, Swansea, Blackburn and Wigan all have a big challenge on, as it stands, to avoid trouble.
That's my interpretation of things. Frankly, I wish I wasn't able to make such a structured prediction because it's a shame it's so unlikely a team like Everton or Villa would suddenly charge towards 4th, or a team like Newcastle will finish 6th, but that's how the league is.
