3pm Kick-offs. Should they be televised?

After the quotes by the fella from Virgin media, should they televise all Premiership games?

  • No, absolutely not.

  • No, but stop playing 3pm Saturday games in the Prem.

  • Yes, Absolutely, carte blanche.

Didn't know that. Question, then: How is it that I can see the 3 p.m. kickoffs live here in Canada? And when I do, I usually have GOT on at the same time and see posts almost the second something happens. Surely not every poster is from outside England?

It is possible to watch them, but there are legal issues all over the shop.

An adamant no from me. I understand the desire from some who'd like to watch away games, but I see the idea as corrosive to the game.

Personally the 3pm kick off is sacred: be it home or away it's a whole day affair which is underpinned by traditions and doing as our elders did.

Maybe that's just being sentimental and slightly selfish, however I also see it as being detrimental to football attendances as a whole.

Arguably less people may attend the 3PM Premiership games and that's not considering how it would affect the attendance in the lower tiers.

It would also further the rescheduling games of games merely for TV audiences both home and abroad. Sunday at 8pm? Friday night?

Sorry it's not for me. I can just about handle Sunday at 4pm, let alone any more changes.

It just seems to be a regular TV broadcast when I watch it -- don't know if it's the Sky, BBC or ITV feed being picked up here -- but I presume, then, it's strictly for international audiences?

I am no expert, but pretty much any live broadcast anywhere in the world is able to be watched online. If you know how.

Sky recently won an EU court battle that bans any EU based organisation allowing their content to be watched in this way. The quality is patchy, the ads are a nuisance, and the last time I managed to find one, (it was Asian), a virus attached itself to my kit that needed a complete wipe of the hard drive.

I consider myself pretty lucky, then.

Absolutely they should, with the black outs obviously.

Can't believe how behind the Premier League is with regards to releasing their own streaming service. NFL and NBA make a killing with them and attendances are fine.

While we're at it, we need a Premier League Redzone, like the Goals Show on BT Sports during CL Games.
