there is logic, benefit administration costs would be slashed for example..im sure there are economic consequences tho
 
I'm no economist by a very long shot but I recall reading something similar to this and the theory behind it was that if people didn't have money to spend it started a knock on effect for business and the economy in general..... By ensuring people hav the money to spend the economy continues to grow and business is general is able to attract further business, both national and international which would then lead to economic growth greater than the original outlay therefore negating the original debt...... Or something like that.
 
I wish the constituents of that over-paid waste of space called Westminster had some foresight, nads, responsibility and capacity to do the job they are supposed to do for our Nation/Citizens.

This would be a good idea if they introduced it as a negative income tax.

For those who work, it is essentially a $2,800 tax cut, just done in the wrong way.
 
The bill for that would be about £125b by my calculation (based on ~6m adults @ £1750/mth). That's for one year.
