22m Moyes paid for Bily and Yak!... not to mention sign on fee's, wages

22m and extras spent on two players who either sat on the bench or got played out of position. What troubles me is why on earth is moyes buying the likes of bily for 10m a central attacking midfielder, when he has cahill who he will never drop with osman next in line. therefore plays him left mid... could of got nzogbia for that!

he was desperate to get someone in before the deadline, plenty of other managers make high profile signing errors...moyes has many failings, but i think his transfer record is pretty good

Its the scouts who referred the likes of vellios and coleman... moyes or no moyes they would of been recommended regardless

No he doesnt, he doesnt even play for Russia anymore, but when he did, he played on the left side of midfield.

Speaking as somebody who watched a LOT of Russia games, I can safely say he only ever played on the left side of midfield for Russia and never played in the number 10 postion.

He even played Left back/Wingback 1 or 2 games.

Oh and that other bit is spot on.

For Russia yes, he did play alot on the left, sometimes at LB even.

For Lokomotiv Moscow he played left side of the central pairing in midfield, inside left was his own words upon signing for us. He said he could play wide left, and wide right if needed but preferred to play inside left, central midfield!.

But if were going to go with what you say and that he was used as a winger all his career, why was Moyesy wanting a left winger when we had Baines and Pienaar playing some top stuff and being very effective down are left?. Why break something so good up by buying a left sided player, why didnt he spend the money more wisely and buy a right winger that we clearly needed, or a striker?!.

everyone talking about bily but yak was hardly a bad signing. before his injury he looked the real deal. I dont think moyes can be blamed for him.

bily is not a central player, hes a left winger, and a pretty poor one at that. cant hack the pace and intensity of prem.

As for the scouts getting credit for velios / coleman, should the scouts not take the blame for bily then? cant have it both ways that moyes gets no credit for successful signings and gets blamed for poor ones.

People blame moyes for then ruining the yak, who can clearly still score goals when fed.

Bily has played centrally for Russia i'm sure of it, or at least a fair few of his goals come from there
