Squad
With 19 players out, I've kept Stekelenburg, Baines, Jagielka in the squad as I think they will be 'passable' as squad players for one last season--to not cause an enormous upheaval despite so many outgoings--with some element of stability and 'experience'.

New players

GK -- We need a 2nd choice keeper.
DF -- First choice left sided centre back + First choice left back
CM -- First choice central midfielder
AM -- If Onyekuru doesn't get a work permit I'd sign a starter in place of Lookman
CF -- A centre forward to compete with Tosun and (if needed) partner him upfront


It's very unlikely we will have Europa league next season. The most likely position we will be aiming for is 6th place (realistically 7th) and so I'd focus on bringing in 3 or 4 'stars' and giving a lot of game time to the squad players with an eye on the following season--increasing experience throughout the squad.

Total squad size of 25/26 players.
 

Mostly agree, but I would keep Mori as well. You want to buy 1 CB, which would only mean we have 4. Any injuries and you could have jags playing long term and Mori is also left footed, so if a new left sided cb came in and ended up getting injured, we would have a natural fit there.

I’d also keep Niasse as I really like his unpredictability and think he has earnt another season here unless he wants to leave. I’d like Klaasen to be given an opportunity under a new manager, but can see why he could be out the door.

Going to be Fonseca ;) Hopefully its all agreed already and hes watching some of the dross in the squad.

Also Brands could well be behind the Fabra (possible) signing as he's unearthed some stars for PSV from South America.

On topic though--weve nothing to play for other than pride now...and I'm not looking forward to tomorrow...so knocked this up as a distraction

Cant keep Mori (in my opinion) he's a major liability + his comments on the falklands should see him out the door pronto.

I'd like to see us go for a monster centre back, someone absolutely enormous

Niasse I cant see staying...we need to be aiming for another big centre forward who has a strong all round game.
 

No, the midfield based around Gueye and Siggurdson is not good enough, they are not good enough, one can’t pick a forward pass and the other is too slow. We need to start again in this area with Davies the only one staying, id bring Besic back as well and obviously keep the young players like a Dowell and Baningime. We need two or three top quality signings in there with pace power and creativity, the players that Schneiderlin Klaassen Siggurdson and Gueye should have been.

Mori should stay too unless we’re investing again in that area. He’d better than any of Keane Jags or Williams.

Cant just sell the entire midfield bar Davies and other youth...need to ship out Schneiderlin, McCarthy, Klaassen, Besic. Rooney will be out in a season also....having Gana and Sigurdsson for another season adds some stability. Just need to add one box to box monster to add power and drive and we can build more In 12 months.

Mori is a major liability I think...Keane and Jagielka fine as back up...need a monster centre back to partner Holgate.

Not seen his comments on the Falklands, but he is bound to have different feelings on the matter to us. I can’t judge on that as I don’t know what he said.

I’d like an enormous CB too, but realistically, we need two if we are letting Mori go as well.

And I agree, we need another striker, but Niasse is one for the last 20 mins of games when we need to mix it up. I don’t think dcl provides that option (he is still a way off in my eyes but will get there if managed right)

I agree. I wouldn't want any of them starting. They would be backup players only, give some continuation and lend experience for one final season to the younger players.
